Alison Harris is based in Paris.
Her work has been published by HarperCollins, Pegasus Books, The Little Bookroom, Rizzoli, Chronicle Books, Stewart Tabori & Chang, Random House and the New York Times.
She graduated with a degree in Art History from Mount Holyoke College.
Harris has exhibited her work in solo and group exhibitions in the United States and Europe: Paris: Street Theater (FotoFest’96 The International Festival of Photography, Houston, Texas); Paris, Paris—Journey into the City of Light (Michèle Gagne Gallery, Soho, New York; 2005) and in a group show Bleu, Blanc, Rouge in B&W —images of France by European and American photographers (Flatfile Galleries, Chicago; 2006); Chiaroscuro (Il Vicolo Galleria d’Arte, Genoa; 2010) and in a group show Crazy for Italian Style (Galerie Italienne, Paris; 2010); Traslochi with Paola Pennecchi (SPAZIOTEMPORANEO di Patrizia Serra, Milan 2012); Chiaroscuro (Chicago Photography Center, Chicago 2012).
Alison Harris’ photography is in the collections of the Musée Carnavalet (Paris Historical Museum), the Bibliothèque Historique de la Ville de Paris (Paris Historical Library), Osterreichische Nationalbibliothek (Austrian National Library), Mount Holyoke College Art Museum (Massachusetts) and the National Gallery of Canada.
Chiaroscuro and Traslochi catalogs are in the National Gallery of Art Library (Washington D.C.), the Hirsch Library (The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston), the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, the Ryerson & Burnham libraries of The Art Institute of Chicago, the National Museum of Women in the Arts (Washington D.C.) and Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art (Bentonville, AR).
Her work is also in numerous private collections in Europe and the United States, including the Nelson Blitz, Jr. and Catherine Woodard Collection.
